Nikola Hobbel researches the intersections of educational policy, multiculturalism, and curriculum. Her work includes analyses of the standards movement in the United States, as well as the cultural construction of the new "good teacher" in globalized contexts. She is currently Assistant Professor of English Education at Humboldt State University on the north coast of California. There, she also serves as Associate Director of the Redwood Writing Project, a grassroots professional development organization for teachers at all levels.
